Company Profile
Molde was founded in 1988 in the city of Caldas da Rainha, a region with a centuries-old tradition in the decorative and utilitarian ceramic industry. We blend tradition and innovation. Our production is done as if in an artist’s studio, standing out from the large-scale industry in terms of finishes, diversity of sizes, and models. In 1992, we were awarded the National Design Award for the ceramic industry. We follow the best environmental practices and have a team spirit that makes us proud. In 2001, we received the National Workplace Safety Award.
Based on a strategy of product diversification, in 2003 we launched the development of a collection of ceramic decorative coatings – ‘Azulejo XXI’.
Starting in 2007, deriving from the technical and commercial know-how acquired up to then, the use of soft ceramic pastes was discontinued, and the manufacture of fine stoneware products began, as well as the renewal of our customer portfolio.
In the year 2018 we started a regular presentation of ‘Molde‘ products in the main trade fairs in Europe.
In 2021 we created the Molde Academy – a department that aims to promote new creative values in the ceramic industry.
